Nature, animals, and whimsy inspire Yolanda Boag to create artwork displaying her passion for art and connection to the natural world.
A multidisciplinary artist studying and practising on Kaurna land, Yolanda expresses herself in Fine Art, Jewellery Design, Printmaking, and Ceramics.
In 2017 Yolanda, a self-taught artist, collaborated with American author M. Y. Zeman to illustrate the children's book"Mumford Never Gives Up". This experience ignited Yolanda’s passion for Visual Arts, which she was determined to explore further.
By 2018, Yolanda returned to tertiary education; in 2019, she accepted an offer to study at Flinders University in partnership with TAFE SA's Adelaide College of the Arts (ACA) Bachelor's degree. Discover the 2023 Artist in Residence programme in the Studiossection, which curates her involvement in the ACA's world-class studios.
In addition to studying to complete her bachelor's degree and creating art in her home studio 'Yollie Bee Art', Yolanda raises butterflies for release and volunteers for wildlife rescue (specialising in Australian Magpies). She is married to Stewart, and they have an adult daughter, Leilani and a houseful of feather and fur kids.
Through her art, Yolanda seeks to express her appreciation for the environment and the delicate balance it maintains. Her work is a testament to her commitment to preserving nature and promoting a sustainable lifestyle.
